Hello Everyone,

So this week was awesome i enjoyed christmas so much!  On christmas eve we spent it out tracting probably for a good 4 to 5 ours!  I was not looking forward to it but we knew we had to be able to find some new people so we just went out and did it!  It was so cool we decided just to walk the road!  Now this wasnt just a short little road this was a good 5 to 6 mile road haha it was awesome we knocked on every door that we could find asking everyone if we could share a christmas message and almost everyone was friendly to us even if they told us no we still asked everyone if we could chop wood for them or do anything it was awesome!  It really showed me what the true way to spend christmas was it was lots of fun and the perfect service opportunities!  We found 5 really really good really cool investigators that day it was an awesome way to spend christmas eve a lot different then anything i would have ever done back home!  It used to be wake up late on christmas eve play video games and eat a big dinner now it was completely different and it was so awesome!  Christmas day was very cool too we took our presents over the the rogers our senior couples place and opened them in the morning!  Then we were able to skype our families i will admit that was really cool to see everyone but man was that weird haha It was good to see my whole family though!  It was weird too though cause my little bro cody wasnt talking like a little girl anymore haha his voice has changed haha nice bro! We had an awesome splits night we had a kid come out from the ward he is like 24 i think he is a really cool guy!  I could tell he was a little  nervous so i took him with me and elder maynard went out with his brother in law who was just there for the hollidays anyway we went out to two lessons together and man those lessons were awesome he was just as much a part of the lesson as we were!  Him  bearing his testimony was one of the most spiritual moments i have heard on my mission so far!  The way he testified that is was the book for the navajo poeple it was awesome! He said he had such a fun time!  I hope you all had a good christmas i love you all and wish a a happy new year!

Elder Rushton meets a hero!  Bobo from the Discovery Channel Finding Bigfoot
Preach my Gospel to all ends of the earth, to every kindred tongue and people!

Hello everyone,
So its hard to believe that this week is christmas!  To be honest it has flown by looking back!  Im excited for this week!  It has been so fun to be able to share the christmas message with everyone we visit!  We had a terrible day this last week seems like everything was going wrong!  We both woke up sick, we invited one of our investigators to a baptism in chinle and we get there and she didnt show up so we call her and she says she woke up sick and wasnt feeling well and wouldnt be able to make it!  Then were heading home and who do we see in chinle driving right past us? the same investigator that told us she was sick? haha we were so mad! Then a lot of other stuff happened i probably shouldnt say haha anyway out here on a mission i have notice when you have a TERRIBLE day if you try to put your self out there do something different, talk to someone you wouldnt have before, go knock on a door or too!  The lord always trys to make your day better anyway he can!  Me and elder maynard parked the truck and just decided to walk down this road about 3 miles long we had nothing to do a terrible day and just felt like walking it off i guess haha so we told ourselves to knock on every house we saw on that road of course there was only 4 houses on that road haha (welcome to the rez)  and of course only one person was home but honestly that one person we knocked on let us right in she looked so happy to see us we asked her if we could share a message about christmas with her it was awesome! She was the sweetest old lady she began to tell us she wasnt feeling well and had been sick for quite some time we were able to give her a preisthood blessing it was so awesome and it made our day so much better!  I trully believe when you have that bad day there are really people out there placed before us to make it better we just have to do something different to find them!
So the funny story for the week is last week me and elder maynard are walking up to a house and out of no where the biggest chocolate lab came running up behind us and freeking bites me right in the butt cheek! Honestly it hurt so freeking bad i was on the ground with tears in my eyes! haha and right when i was on the ground the lady answered the freeking door haha it was so embarrassing and awkward haha we just started laughing so hard! That is really what a mission is about awkward moments like that! haha  It didnt peirce the skin so im good haha im not foaming at the mouth yet!  haha Anyway i love you guys have a good week and watch out for chocolate labs!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM ELDER RUSHTON!

ELDER RUSHTON IS A PRETTY BIG FAN OF THESE GIRLS!

SOME VERY SWEET PEOPLE WHO FIXED ELDER RUSHTON A BIRTHDAY LUNCH AND CAKE

Hello Everyone,
So this past week was really good!  I had an awesome birthday on wednesday!  We woke up and opened presents haha just me and my buddy elder maynard in our little camper! haha Around lunch time we went to a lunch bday party that some member put on for me!  It was awesome had some fry bread that would make anyones bday party special haha they also even baked a cake for me!  It was awesome i loved it!  I have two late bday parties this week it should be really good! These people are so awesome and giving i love them!  Me and elder maynard are teaching very well together it has been so cool it seems like in the lessons when i have nothing left to say he out of no where just keeps the lesson going its been really cool to see how in sync we are!  We are having a really hard time with our investigators to be able to progress it has been really challenging but we arent going to quit!  So back to our great camp trailer we live in haha the night before my bday so tuesday night it got so cold somewhere in the negatives we had our heater all the way up and maxed out but it was still so cold that night!  I remember in the middle of the night rolling over and having my arm brush up against the wall and all i felt was a sheet of ice covered on the inside of our wall haha i woke up so mad haha the wall right next to my freeking bed had ice on it but its all fun i mean its just good stories for when im a dad and my kids are crying its too cold! haha "oh yeah? you think it cold, well back on my misssion!" haha It has been a lot of fun out here i cant imagine myself being anywhere else or doing anything else its so awesome i kind of dont even want to move out of the camper just because all of the awesome tough challenging experiences we have haha its just making me a better person!  Our heavenly father knew i needed to be humbled when i came out on my mission and man is he doing a great job haha I love all you guys hope you have a safe week!

So this last week was awesome we have been getting so much snow i bet we have close to a foot outside our camper!  We have to walk in our same footprints everyday back to the truck haha so were not to deep in snow!

Last monday was fun we got together with the chinle elders, Elder Scofield, and Elder Stailey and we hiked down into canyon de chelly it was a lot of fun! Then we played basketball after "i still got it" haha

On wednesday it snowed i mean it snowed a ton but we were still planning on going up to wheatfields bad idea haha there is a huge hill called black pinicle hill its comparable to the hill you have to go up to island park!  On our way up i kid you not i bet we passed close to 15 cars off to the side of the road!  There were cars sliding off everywhere so me and elder maynard both look at each other and say why not lets just help these people haha so we put on our coats hats and gloves and push and dug so many cars out!  While we were pushing one truck out it started sliding my way and it just about pushed me over well on my way falling back i look behind me and there is a car about ten ft behind me haha i was like oh my heck im done for i had to leap out of the way haha it was so scary but the second i let go of the truck it straightened out and was fine i honestly know there is no possible way that truck could have straightened out i thought about that all day it was kinda scary i almost died but somehow someway someone was helping push that truck away from me! Pretty cool!  We talked to a lot of people up on that hill and got some new investigators from it it was really good!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes it should be a good one!  and just so everyone knows EVAILIA VEGA MAKES THE BEST TORTILLAS EVER! haha thank you so much :)

Pretty sure thats the cutest girl I've ever seen!  Elder Rushtons favorite girl!

These two great people have taken care of and loved Elder Rushton so much!  Elder and Sister Rogers

Hello,

It was so nice to be able to be back to normal this week and get back to work!  Elder Maynard and me get along great! I think we teach very good together too!  He is started to love Lukachukai!  It is always tough getting transfered especially the way he did just getting called and being told to pack your bags your leaving in the morning that would be hard especially since he loved his last area so much!  We had an awesome thanksgiving day it was weird though we both kinda didnt even feel like it was thanksgiving at first!  We both kinda woke up and said wow dang its thanksgiving haha We had a district meeting that morning?  I mean come on a meeting on a holiday?  haha but thats the missionary life there really are no breaks out here!

So ever since i got here it has been all about hauling wood for people, now we are chopping it  haha and i mean all of it haha we chop so much wood its insane haha im gonna be so ripped by the time i come home haha I love it though!  Mom you dont know this yet but when i come home i am honestly building a hogan in the back of our yard and there has to be a wood burning stove in there or else it just wouldnt be a hogan, and we are going to haul so much wood and chop it all up and stack it all the way around the hogan so we have more insulation in there! haha Seriously though mom!

I am honestly starting to have so much fun down here i mean we go into lessons and i honestly always am laughing or smiling so much by the time i get out my cheeks hurt!  My favorite part of being down here are the STORIES!  The navajo people are honestly such great story tellers and at times ya they might be the fakest stories i have ever heard haha but it is so funny how they tell them!  Its something you would have to experience for yourself!  Anyway not much went on this week I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving and ill talk to you next week!

Some connections in the mission!  Communication straight to Grandma Rushton!

Moses with his staff (AKA Elder Rushton)
Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Shortly after the horse stomped his foot and splashed horse poop all over Elder Rushton!  Notty Horse!

Elder Swett and Elder Rushton

Hello,
So ill be completely honest, this last week was rough!  It was one of the hardest weeks of my mission so far!  I lost my companion Elder Swett!  I am no longer a training him! I'll say this, and I mean it with my whole heart I AM SO PROUD OF HIM for what he is doing!  He is a strong kid!  I'm glad i had the opportunity to be with him for a short two months!

My new companions name is Elder Maynard he is from Pocatello, ID so im am so excited to be able to have another Idaho companion! haha He is a visa waiter so he was originally called to serve in Sau Palo, Brazil!  He flew down here with me so we have been out for around the same time!  I'm so excited to be able to work with him and especially to get back to work!

This past sunday it was an awesome day at church it made the whole week better!  I was reading president monsons sunday morning talk "I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee" and in there he talks about instead of sitting back and asking the question "why me?" just ask how these challenges and trials can make us stronger!  It was awesome, and really has been on my mind a lot lately! The speakers did awesome they talked about the things that they are thankful for and it really made me sit back and think to myself how good my life really is!  I am thankfull for so much!  I am thankfull for my family first and foremost i miss them very much, i cant wait to talk to them on christmas! I am greatful to be out here in the best most challenging mission in the world! haha i love it and cant picture myself anywhere else!  I love all of you and i hope you have a great thanksgiving!

Elder Rushtons District

So pretty, awesome picture!

Cole's so happy for a new heater for the camper!  He'll stay warm now!

Hello everyone,
So the weeks are starting to fly before i can even think about the last week its already the next week!  This week there weren't too many experiences like we have had before!  haha We are still casting out evil spirits haha we got two phone calls this week that people were asking us to come and bless there house haha both at night its like why do these people always freeking ask us at night haha so we kindly said yes and we went and did it!  None were nearly as scary as last weeks haha but it's been weird!  All my time with elder fonnesbeck we probably had to do this twice, but with me and elder swett i bet we have done it close to 12 times since he has been here!  I personally think it halloween that started all this madness haha but were handling it!  I feel like we are the real like "GHOST BUSTERS" haha

On friday we had a very very busy day we went wood hauling in the morning haha, btw i have probably filled close to 70 truckloads since i have been here!  Its ok i dont mind it, its kind of fun to me!  Then we had a barbeque at noon to go too that was so good i ate so much!  Then all of the sudden we had a birthday party to go to haha oh boy, so we had a huge turkey leg there, mashed potatoes, cake-oh boy it wasn't good but it was so good at the same time haha!  At this point we are just about to throw it all up!  So after that party we had one more bday party to go to, haha we had fried chicken, pizza, and cake!  Here on the rez the navajos are such good people they always want to cook for you and it doesn't matter how hungry you are you have to eat it!  Because it is very insulting to not eat the food they try to give you!  So lets just say not all that food made it home with us haha i had to pull over in the middle of the road and let it all go, it was so bad at least i fed the rez dogs a little bit haha love you guys!  The church is still as true today as it was yesterday haha!

Cute puppy

COLE TITLED THIS ONE "I MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE SWERVED!"

I ask for pictures and this is what he sends!  LOL!~

Hello everyone,
So this week was well different haha but out here ive learned to expect the unexpected!  So it started out really good tuesday and wednesday flew by!  On wednesday we taught seven lessons which is the most since i have been here it was cool to do that!  I love it when we are so busy there is no time to even say what should we do next? That is when time flys bye!  I might have mentioned this before but me and elder swett sat down and just thought to ourselves we really need to start working with the ward better so we sat and planned how!  We came up with a lot of ideas but mainly we knew we need to take members out to lessons with us more! So we came up with a plan every friday night we do what is called a splits night!  Anyone that wants to come can! We meet at our senior couple trailer and we eat bannana spilts haha and then we go out and teach two lessons each so elder swett splits up with me and he goes with another preisthood holder and i do too and we go out and teach 4 lessons total its really cool! I mean who doesnt like banana splits haha?   So thats good the ward seems to like the idea!  Remember that if you can and if you are ever asked to go out with the missionaries DO IT!  Its not scary at all its fun! The missionaries are only there for a couple months then they get transfered when the members are there forever and they can always welcome in those investigators and less actives!

Also this week we visited a recent convert family!  They have been having lots of different experiences with evil scary stuff happening!  They have a son who lives up on the hill in a doublewide trailer he just barely bought a month ago ever since he has been staying there he says there are knocks under the trailer ALL NIGHT there are like moans and growls that come from his back room and he has been seeing a lady holding a baby in his trailer! He says he hears a coyotte howl every night at exactly 10:30 haha personal i dont think thats a coyote i think that a straight skin walker! haha So basically he is telling me all this inside this haunted house and in the meantime im scared out of my mind!  Back home i would have been out the door running as far away from that place as i could haha but out here i have to be that cool calm 18 year old missionary that i am haha So basically we all knelt down in prayer and we blessed the house stated the preisthood and everything we got done and well it still felt the same lots of evil was still there which i didnt get at all? then me and elder swett remember something our bishop out here told us if your ever in that kind of situation you need to raise your arm to the square state the preisthood and demand those evil spirits to leave! So thats exactly what we did! I'll admitt it was pretty scary me and elder swett two 18 year old boys in there fighting off satan haha it was good though because i came to realize that there is no power on earth greater than the preisthood from god!  Satan may look really powerfull but he has got NOTHING on the preisthood!  Love you all have a great week!

Snow fight!

Cole's beloved Red Sox won!!!!  Red Sox Nation!!!!

Cats, cats and more cats!

Hello,
So this week went by really slow!  I dont know why probably because it was cold!  Also it could have been because halloween was this week so everyone was gone So there was no one to see!  Also it was the first of the month this last week! Which means there is not one single person left in this town there  all packed up and either in farmington or gallup!  We had the chance to confirm our investigator yesterday at sacrament that was cool!  She really fits right in she is trully part of the ward now! Me and Elder Swett were out tracting and this was probably one of the funniest experiences yet!  We start walking up to the door and we see this like 8 year kid running towards his house as fast as he can haha were like oh boy he's going to tell him family were coming!  So we finally get to the door and i knock on it!  This little 3 year old girl answers the door and without us even saying anything she says "my moms not home" haha so im like thats bull so im like really where is she? and the little girl shruggs her shoulders and so then i say well will you go tell your mom we say hi? haha immediately the little girl turns around runs into the living room and tells her mom we said hi haha the funniest thing ever!  Idk why i said that haha i just new the mom was home it was so funny though!  The mom was so embarrassed haha The moral of the story is DONT MAKE YOUR KIDS LIE FOR YOU! haha love you guys have a good week!

THE REASON WE SERVE MISSIONS

"This was the most specialist thing I have ever experienced"

I wanted to share what Elder Rushton wrote to his mom so you'd know how special this was to him

We just finished our baptism, oh my gosh it was so amazing mom most incredible moment of my life!  Seeing her with her cane barely crawl herself down into that faunt and me being
able to help her in and then baptizing her was so incredible the spirit was so strong nothing compares!

Hello everyone,

So this week was a very long week idk why probably because it was slow but it was a great week!  First of all we have been slaying mice in our trailer the war has begun haha and there going down!  We started out by spending last monday night in gallup for a zone conference!  It was awesome!  President and sister Batt were there it was a great training and learned a lot of new techniques to use while we are teaching!  I hated being in gallup it was way too big of a city and i just wanted to get back to the rez so bad haha!  We found this old  lady who really wanted to learn but we couldnt teach her cause there was just one little problem she only spoke navajo!  So we took a member out with us and he translated everything haha it was definately different but it was a really cool experience!  We had exchanges this week elder beck came here from many farms and stayed with me because we had to do some baptismal interviews!  We had some great experiences and taught some of the best lessons since ive been here!  This morning we had a baptismal service for one of our investigators we have been working with for so long!  She is so incredible i have seen her faith grow so much from when i first got here!  She had a coffee problem and really just couldnt quit it at all many missionaries have tried everything with her she just couldnt but for some reason me and elder fonnesbeck were prompted to set a baptismal date with her and see if she would accept!  Well she did and from that day forward she never drank a sip of coffee it was the most amazing experience i have ever seen in my life!  So today was her 61st birthday so we had the baptism in chinle since you know we dont have a building or anything but i had the privelage to baptize her i was so honored to do that she is such an amazing lady!  being down in the faunt and watching her walk down the stairs with her cane and seeing her struggle and helping her into the faunt was one of the most spiritual moments i have ever had in my life it almost brought tears to my eyes!  Nothing was gonna stop her because this is what she knew the lord wanted her to do!  Being able to do that was incredible the feeling everyone talks about when they talk about the warm hearted feeling in the chest from the holy ghost that was exactly what it was like!  Incredible moment that just assured me that im out here for a reason and that is to bring my brothers and sisters closer to christ and to never give up no matter what kind of problem people have in there lives with the power of the preisthood and the holy ghost anything is possible!  Love you all have a good week!

Cole and his Companion

Hello,
So pretty much just another week on the rez haha sometimes i have to like check myself and remind my self im a belegana (white person)  i honestly sometimes think im navajo! haha When i see people of my fellow color out here its like what they heck are they doing on the rez? haha oh shoot im white too!  I am loving it!  I think Elder Swett is really starting to get used to things haha especially after this week!  We knocked on this guys door and haha it was actually last week!  It was Elder Swetts first door he has ever knocked on haha this guy answers and invites us right in were like oh hey cool!  We walk in and sit down on his couch he then goes into his bedroom to get something he comes out with some paper and some kind of weed haha!  He rolls it right in front of us lights it up and smokes it right in our face!  The whole time Elder Swett was trying to teach him haha im trying to give him the nudge lets get outta here!  He began to tell us these stories how he tried to hang himself a month ago from the ceiling fan and how he failed at it so thats why god wants him to be alive at first i was like whatever dude then i looked at his neck and his neck had a huge scar all around it then i knew he was serious!  I was like Elder Swett we gotta get outta here haha he was so focused on trying to teach the guy!  Lets just say you can only teach by the spirit and if the spirit is gone there is no point of teaching!  We should have never have even walked in it was bad but hey its all a learning experience haha!  So our nice little camp trailer (NOT)  has had quite the week we opened up the cupboard where we keep our toilet paper and for some reason all of our toilet paper was shredded so i sat there and thought to myself hmmm what the crap?  Boom popped right into my head it has to be a mouse!  So the next day we open the silverwear drawer  and a mouse was right there it freeked me out so bad haha So we pretty much washed everything in our drawers and are keeping all of our silverwear on the kitchen table until we can get some traps today!  It isnt fun! We had stake conference this last weekend it was really good it was in chinle and we had a general authority come Elder Foster!  He was a great talker really motivated!  He talked about the importance of family and the importance of communication in family it was an amazing thing and that is exactly what the people down here needed to hear it was really good!  I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Breathtaking

Hello Everyone,
So we dropped off Elder Fonnesbeck and picked up my new trainee his name is Elder Swett he is from Evanston, Wyoming.  He is a really nice kid.  It was weird sitting in the trainer/trainee meeting and it felt like just yesterday that i was in that meeting!  Anyway so i picked him up and brought him back haha boy was that fun sitting there watching him looking around like where the heck am i going! haha I remember thinking the exact same way he was!  Just a little bit of culture shock!  He is getting used to things though!  We spent alot of time this week out tracting we knocked on this one door and man these guys were so cool!  Ill tell you what this is probably one of my favorite new families they invited us right in and the first thing they said was sit down and have some cookies haha so we sat down and got talking i cracked a stupid joke about one of there goats outside haha it was so freeking tall tallest goat ive ever seen haha i dont even remember what the joke was about but it had to do with yao ming haha they cracked up so bad haha it was so random too it was halarious but they were so cool and i know that they are ready for the gospel and that they need it in there lives!  I cant wait to go back and teach them!  Its so cool cause i know that there are so many families that are out there and we just have to find them!  Im really excited to see what this week brings!  love you all have a good week!

At a Cross Country Race this week with some very important people to Elder Rushton

Hello Everyone,
So this week was well pretty busy we did a lot!  We had the chance to go to a cross country race and support one of the peoples kids that we teach it was really really fun and it brought back some good memories!  We also got to meet a lot of people there!  I think these people really like it when the "elders" as they call us come out and support community events!  Its a good way to meet and talk to new people!  Earlier this week we had the opportunity to help another help train his horses man was that scary! haha Elder Fonnesbeck just about got trampled,  it was lots of fun too though!  So every thursday we have our district meetings in chinle and we always go to pizza edge (a pizza place)  so it was like the busiest day there and me and elder fonnz were the only elders that were in the pizza place and everybody else was navajo!  We didnt mind that but all of the sudden we here this guy just yelling at us and he comes walking straight up to us!  Anyway he is a Galane (means drunk in navajo)  He was highly intoxicated haha thats all im gonna say!  He starting cussing us out and i mean dropping swear words like no other and he is right in my face!  Everyone in the resteraunt is watching! I wanted to just punch the guy in the face so bad but i new i had to hold back "be christlike"  man was that one of the hardest things that i have ever had to do was to just sit there and take it!  I never said a word back to him just stood there biting my lip nodding my head!  Anyway general conference was amazing its so true you never really realize how powerfull our apostles and prophet really are until you are a missionary!  Saturday morning during our studies our phone calls and we both look at it and it say President Batt of course we throw it back and forth at each other saying "you answer it, no you answer it!" haha so finally we answered it president began to tell us the transfer news so here you go!
Looks like i will be staying in Lukachukai!  I will be training a new missionary which is really scary because i just barely finished my own training that day!  Anyway im really excited and cant wait!  Elder Fonnesbeck will be going to Monticello, UT!  Anyway its been a really really good week i love you all and i hope all is well back home hope you got all those taters harvested haha :)

I have been informed this is the Grandma to my future Grandpuppies

Postcards from Red Fish from the Family

Kiya went wood hauling with them

I told Cole I wanted a pic of him in the Truck like Elder Fonnesbeck, this is what I got!

Hello,
This week went by definately fast!  As i look back on time i cant even believe im already nearing 3 months!  I remember getting dropped off at the mtc and being that terrified little 18 year old boy haha!  Now ive been out here 3 months and im all grown up haha!  Its amazing it was the best decision i have ever made to graduate and get out here and do what the lord wants me to be doing!  I know there were and are people here that need what i have to say!  It has been amazing in preach my gospel it has a chapter on having the faith to find and that is really what i have seen to be true lately!  As long as we know in our heart that the lord has people prepared for us and that they are just waiting for us WE WILL FIND THEM!  So i got sick again this week a whole different kind of sick haha stuffy nose cough sore throat haha im tired of it i just want  it to go away!  So yesterday we went to visit one of our less active ladies and we walk in and well lets just say we were trapped haha!  Her husband pretty much said sit down and so we did then he gave us this soup and he was honestly like eat it you have no choice you cant say no to me haha! Oh boy so we ate it!  It was disgusting the most nastiest thing i have ever eaten in my life he just kept saying dont ask questions just eat!  haha so we finished the soup BARELY (it was like rubber so hard to chew) anyway we get done and he says do you want to know what you just ate? YES?  GOAT STOMACH!!!!!! and everything in it!!!!!  Right when he said that i just about puked! Because when he says everything in it he means everything that was in the stomach too when he killed it there was grass floating in the top of the soup and everything i thought it was just like seasoning NOOOOOO it was freeking everything the goat ate that day!  My heck i dont know how i am still alive and walking right now it definatley opened my eyes to eating some new food haha who even eats that kind of stuff come on!  I will stick to my quesadillas! Anyway im doing really good and im starting to love lukachukai and everyone here and even the crazy crazy crazy culture they have!

Batman Socks and Sweet Lookin Ties!!  From 2 moms with Love!

Siding project-Cole said when the skill saw quit working they pulled out a chain saw and finished!

Not an uncommon occurence!  Sheep are friends too!

Both Elder Rushton and Elder Fonnesbeck got to work and help at the RODEO in Tsaile, AZ.  They both look happy!
Flash flooding is a common occurance.  Road washed from too much water.

Elder Rushton and Elder Fonnesbeck got to visit the Snow Flake Temple

Hello everyone,
So this week was lots of fun!  We had the dine college rodeo here in Tsaile.  There were schools from all over Arizona and New Mexico!  Me and Elder Fonnesbeck volunteered to help at it and so we did a lot of helping and a little watching haha ok it was totally the other way around!  The rodeo was awesome to watch!  It  was good for us to get out in the community and wear our nametags and see that we support everyone!  We talked to lots of people and it turned out to be a very good experience! We did a lot of service this week like 15 hours everything from fixing houses, to hauling MORE wood, to going to the rodeo!  It was good we are so sore right now though!  It is getting a lot colder down here which is alright its not to bad about the same as Idaho! We had the opportunity to go to the Snowflake Temple yesterday!  Man that was amazing to see all of us elders in the temple it was very cool! The new video was amazing! The Snowflake temple was beautiful it sits up on top of the hill with all the red rocks surrounding it! Sunday it was crazy we were just there having a normal sacrament meeting and all of the sudden we had investigator after investigator walk in haha it was very cool too see!  On saturday we were coming home from Lukachukai and it was raining all night and well lets just say we kind of got caught in a flash flood we were driving up the road and the current of water was coming down the road haha it was about two feet deep and so I remembered some great advice that my buddy denim hansen gave to me back in our dirt bike days!  "If in doubt,  throttle out" haha and so that is exactly what i did pedal to the floor and we barely made it through haha it was so much fun though! Anyway hope everything is well back home!

Sunset, it sure is pretty there.  Cole's only picture this week!

So it has been a pretty slow week!  Not much happened!  I finally got to go to the doctor last monday man what a great way to spend a pday in a dr.'s office haha NOT!!!!!  I am feeling much better though!  I think i got a parasite in my stomach somehow, it wasnt good!  But the doctor gave me some medicine and its working they also took my blood which they should call me today and tell me if anything is too wrong with me! We went knocking on a lot of doors this last week trying to find!  It feels like we know that there is someone out there that really needs this gospel and it is our job to find them and were not going to stop until we do!  Anyway so we were out in the boonies again this week and we were walking down this long lane up to a house and we could see that the front door was open so we knew someone was home anyway we get about half way up there and SLAM there goes the door haha were like oh boy cool so we keep walking and we finally get up to the door and look and spray painted on the door in big black letter it says KNOCK AND DIE!!!!!!  Haha so i took one look at elder fonnesbeck and knocked on the door haha ya no one answered but hey look at us were still alive!!!  Anyway so that was fun just a little adrenaline rush!  I know there has been a lot of flooding back home but there is a lot here too out in round rock just about twenty miles west of us they got flooded really bad this week some of the people were stranded in there homes for a couple of days cause there was so much water around them so the National Guard came out and started taking people out of there homes by helicopter pretty cool there were so many helicopters around here! The redcross is set up here in Lukachukai for anyone that is needing shelter or help pretty cool!  So we will probably be out somewhere doing some service sometime this week!  Probably filling sand bags!  We get to go to the temple next monday im so excited it feels like i havent been to the temple in so long i miss those day me and my freinds would just load up and go to the temple before school or on a weekend or whenever we are so lucky to be able to have a temple back home and be so close to it!  Anyway love you all shoutout to my boys tearing it up on the football field!!!! 3-0!!!!!
